I wish I could punch John Lennon in his fucking throat for that ‘Woman is the Nigger of the World’ bullshit.
u do realize he was calling out society FOR the treatment of women lol
why not listen…
So that’s makes it okay for him too use? Because it doesn’t. Not in the slightest. He wants to help women? How about shouldn’t have beat them. That’s way better than being a racially insensitive asshole in some weird vague attempt to connect to oppressed groups.
he ACKNOWLEDGED that he beat them, he owned up to it. i never said it was okay for him to use said word, but if he had used any other word would there be so much controversy about it? would it have caught people’s attention or made them listen to what he had to say. he wasn’t the only person who went out all nice and pristine but secretly beat his wife at home. its hypocritical yes, and its not nor was it for him okay to do, he tried his best to right his wrongs and did a lot of good in his time but i guess people still only focus on the bad. i can’t apologize for him using the slur because i am not him, but think about if he hadn’t used that word would it even be catching YOUR attention right now?
Um. No. You basic point this whole time has been its okay for him to say because of the context. But its not. And if we agree on that which according to you’re last statement we do then we are arguing about nothing. But a known racist and woman beater making a song called “women are the niggers of the world” is wrong and if you can’t see that then you are painfully and woefully misguided as a human. In short John Lennon wasn’t shit. He’s a white Chris Brown who gets a pass because he made some decent music.liking him is your prerogative but I don’t have to accept the bullshit he did and I will call it when I see it.
john actually wasn’t a racist, the context of the song was intended for a good purpose. could he had used a different word? yes. i did not mean for it to come off the way it did and i apologize for that, because it really isn’t okay for anyone to use that word because of the way it was used in the past.
i understand that it’s wrong BECAUSE of the things that had been going on at the time and due to the slur and some mistakes he had made with yoko. i don’t try to deny he did any of this because everyone knows about it, but john did at least try to do a lot of good for his time. that doesn’t get him off the hook or make it okay for what he did.
i never said you had to accept and or like what he did because as everyone else he had wrong doings but his were more noticed and controversial due to the way he did them and because of him being a celebrity.
